My first trip to Shanghai, China was a business trip which had me extremely busy every day but I did get a chance to take a few pictures of the areas around my hotel which was located in Pudong. The skyline in Shanghai was impressive and reminded me a lot of Manhattan. The picture below has the two tallest buildings in Shanghai – in the foreground is the Jin Mao Tower (currently the world’s 9th tallest highrise building) and in the background is the Shanghai World Financial Center (currently the world’s 3rd tallest highrise building) which was finished in 2008. It is difficult to appreciate how tall these structures are in the shot below but they are truly impressive structures.
Photo taken from just below Jin Mao Tower and converted to B&W in Silver Efex Pro.

I have a few more trips planned back to Shanghai in 2009 so expect to see more in upcoming posts here.
