2008 Arizona Renaissance Festival – Twig The Fairy

Michelle and I went with our friend Fernando to the 2008 Arizona Renaissance Festival this past Sunday. It was opening weekend, the weather was great and the crowd was out in full force. This is only our 2^nd year going to this event and I really enjoy it. The costumes, the entertainment and the crafts on display make for some great photographic opportunities. I am very pleased with the pictures that I have from this event – it feels like I am improving. I have a ton of pictures to share but I will start with my favorite from the festival – Twig The Fairy:

She stays in character when she is out with the crowd and hands out little marbles with fairy dust – the kids love her. Here is another photo of Twig The Fairy:

She was very gracious in letting me take a few photos and I really appreciated it. In the next few days I’ll share more photos from the festival in the following categories:

Characters from the festival (performers, crowd, etc)
Pictures from the birds of prey exhibit

I am so glad you got some great pictures of Twig. My little brother has the biggest crush on her and I suspect she’s the only reason he agrees to go every year

Twig is absolutely beautiful. There are melting hearts all over the country in the wake of the festivals where she plays!

Twig is unbelievably enchanting and I am in awe of her. I am a huge fan of Ren Faire and it would not be the same without this wonderful person.
Am I the only one who wonders “who is this person, and how on earth does she stay in character so flawlessly?”. I personally think she IS a magical being!

If you ever get the chance you should check out the Phoenix Faerie Festival. It’s in November in Goodyear AZ

I never saw Twig the Fairy when we went to AZ Ren Fest (2003-2005), but she has made appearances at the Renaissance fair in Sioux Falls, South Dakota recently. She is interesting to watch and our daughter was amazed by her. )
